The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (J.S.S.C.) was established under the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission Act 2008 (Jharkhand Act 16, 2008). This legislation was officially announced through Gazette notification number 829, dated 6 December 2008, by the Jharkhand Government. The Act has since been revised by Jharkhand Act 03, 2011 and Jharkhand Act 19, 2011. These amendments were published via Gazette notification numbers 153, dated 24 February 2011, and 687, dated 11 October 2011, respectively.
